More About Board Membership
The association is governed by a group of members who are food professionals and serve as its Board of Directors and Officers to the Board. The members have demonstrated their dedication to the mission of the SFPA, the industry, and a spirit of collaboration and character.
An Executive Director is appointed annually by the Board to serve in the association management role. The Executive Director serves in addition to the Officers and Directors and without the voting privilege. The Executive Director is the curator of historical records including minutes of Board Meetings and the annual meeting.
The Board of Directors consists of the Officers of the Association and six members. New members to the Board are elected each year on a rotational basis for a term of two years. Every effort is made to balance between members and associate members. A member of the Board of Directors can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms in the same position except for the Treasurer. Members of the board can be employees of members who are food processors.
For more information on becoming an SFPA Board Member, contact our executive director, Kay Rentzel.
