Be Part of Our Heritage

Our heritage dates back to June 16, 1942. At the Georgia Canners Association’s organizational meeting, Mr. W. Ennis Parker of Pomona Products Company, Griffin, Georgia, was elected president.

In 1975, the association extended its membership to freezers and became the Southeaster Canners and Freezers Association. In 1979, the name evolved into today’s Southeastern Food Processors Association.

Originally, the new association’s boundaries encompassed Georgia and Florida. In 1978, members from Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina were welcomed. In 1980, Kentucky members were added.

The key to success of SFPA over its seven decades is the continuity of membership by those totally committed to the shared success and integrity of every member.
